Reservoir Pumps (Air Conditioning Condensate)

Reservoir pumps for air conditioning condensate are devices used to drain condensate water produced by air conditioning systems, especially when gravity drainage is not possible.

What exactly is it for?

1. Condensate water drainage:
   • When air passes through the air conditioner's evaporator, moisture in the air condenses on the cold surfaces and forms water (condensate).
   • This water must be drained, otherwise it risks damaging the equipment or causing mold.
2. Use in non-gravity installations:
   • In certain cases (e.g., wall-mounted or basement-installed air conditioners), drainage by natural slope is impossible.
   • The pump then allows to push the water towards a higher or more distant drainage point (sewer, sink, outdoors, etc.).
3. System composition:
   • A small reservoir collects the water.
   • When the water level reaches a certain threshold, a float triggers the electric pump which expels the water.
   • Some pumps include an alarm in case of failure (useful for stopping the air conditioning in case of overflow).
